So...what are YOU feeding...

I do believe this is the new ice breaker in my little corner of the world. Sometimes creepy, rarely uttered by myself, and always with that little fear that the other person's critter will be cooler than yours.
Now, this is usually only asked when standing at the cricket compound at PetSmart. Otherwise people can usually tell by the frantic look in my eyes at the grocery store that I am feeding boys so they usually don't ask. But crickets are a whole 'nother story...
There are so many creatures that enjoy a tasty cricket morsel or two. For us, it is the lizards eating them...I think they are gross stinky bugs that move too quickly...Mike, Spiro and Killer tend to disagree...so we buy them by the hundred-ish each week. Some dusted, some not and then we watch as each of our guys (and possible girl as we have seen the odd egg here and there) go to town on the poor guys.
So folks, we are feeding two anoles and a long tailed...the long tailed is super cool as he belongs to me. My guys picked him out for my birthday. :) His name is Mike.

Someone already rode a bike on the moon?

Somehow, Carson, my nine year old figured this out...
the conversation went something like"...first man on the moon blahblahblah (okay, in my defense, I am brainstorming class ideas and kit projects and layouts for the store) blahblah but I don't think it was Lance Armstrong, it was the other guy, John or Jake or something..."
Neil, maybe?? I said... then googled (love it when I am right)
To which Cars replied, I didn't know someone had been on Juno (apparently, was my husband's naughty answer) and then the golden nugget of discovery...Lance Armstrong rode his bike on the moon.
Who knew?

Prayers

and such.
Jeff's good friend Darren's wife is in some pretty shape right now. She has had brain surgery twice in the past few days for an aneurysm and complications of said aneurysm. If you are the praying type, please do so for Darren and Shelley. I'm sure they would be appreciated.

12 years experience

So Thursday (the 29th) was my 12th anniversary as a mom. Yes, folks, my baby is now 12.
Not a whole lot happened for the poor boy. Opened a few gifties and that's about it. We had his family party Saturday night where he opened a few more gifties and played with cousins...and uncles. Have I mentioned my brothers are a lot like kids? I will have to figure out how to upload video, because this is truly a site to see.
On the bright side I learned that I make a fantastic Cheesecake Factory style Pumpkin Cheesecake...the birthday boys' favorite kind....mmmmm it was so good!
Jeff and I completed our neighborhood Biggest Loser. He came in first and I came in second in the weight loss part. He was first in inches, our neighbor was second. I'm not sure how I did in inches because what I measured prior to going to the weigh and what she measured me at were two totally different numbers. Weird. All in all, I have about 25 more to go.
So, we have one more soccer game left and little league is winding up. Pitching machine is just starting and our first game reminded me of a lot of little things that need to be worked on...like say, throwing and catching. Fairly important parts of playing baseball, you know. Plus, these guys need to run like the wind...for the most part I think they did well. We only had a couple who were obviously bored in the outfield...that's not bad considering baseball can be kind of boring.
We are on the hunt for WiiFit. I totally want that! Jeff is planning to put the winnings from Biggest Loser toward that little bundle of joy. I would LOVE something that would challenge me that I can do at home whenever I want.
So off to baseball I go. Have a good one!
